His practice spans the areas of analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Khin’s experience also includes providing technical support in freedom-to-operate analysis, invalidity and patentability opinions and post-grant prosecution, including Ex parte Re-examination and Oppositions before the European Patent Office.
Khin received a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry as a Christopher S. Foote Fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with Honors from the University of California, Los Angeles. During his graduate studies, Khin’s research focused on the chemical reactivity and photophysical properties of organic molecular nanocrystals in solid state photo-decarbonylation reactions. Khin also possesses extensive experience in the areas of excited-state photochemistry, petrochemical analysis, ultrafast spectroscopy and fullerene chemistry. He has presented his research at numerous symposia and at the American Chemical Society National Meetings. He has also authored numerous articles which have been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Chemical Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Photochemical and Photobiological Sciences A: Chemistry, Journal of Physical Chemistry, and Photochemistry and Photobiology.
Khin is a member of the American Chemical Society and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
