She has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the U.S. and foreign patent offices. She has successfully appealed numerous cases before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is also familiar with European opposition proceedings. Shweta represents a wide range of clients including academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and health care companies.
Shweta has extensive laboratory experience in a diverse array of techniques including vector design, protein expression and purification, antibody based assays, mammalian cell culture, FRET-based high throughput screening, siRNA design and transfection, quantitative RT-PCR, pulse-chase, protein stability analysis, immunohistochemistry, and Drosophila genetics.
Shweta received a B.Sc. (with Honors) in Biochemistry from the University of Delhi, India, an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India, and a Ph. D. in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the Ohio State University. As a post-doctoral fellow, Shweta conducted biomedical research related to Huntington’s disease in Department of Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco.
