Bozicevic, Field and Francis is always interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates, particularly from prospective patent assistants, technology specialists, patent agents and associates.

If you are interested in applying for any of the positions described below, please send your resume to us with a short cover letter to careers@bozpat.com.

The firm is always seeking technical specialists.

Ideal candidates for this position must have an advanced degree in the biological sciences, particularly biochemistry, immunology, cell biology, cell engineering or molecular biology, as well as strong academics. You should have excellent writing, analytical and communications skills with top academic credentials and an eagerness to learn. This is an entry level position that requires no prior experience in patent prosecution and does not require registration to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Technical specialists are an integral part of the firm's practice. As a technical specialist, you will provide technical analysis and legal research for matters pending before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. You will work closely with senior patent agents and partners to assist in writing patent applications, developing strategies and drafting responses to actions issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. During this process you will learn how to develop and draft scientific and legal arguments, how write patent applications, and the laws and procedures for prosecuting patent applications. You will be strongly encouraged to take the patent bar exam within the first two years of working at the firm.

In addition to assisting in drafting responses and applications you may be asked to research a particular technology and then provide a detailed explanation as to how it works, determine the relevancy of scientific publications cited against a patent application by an examiner, review and edit pre-publication manuscripts used for patent application drafting, and provide general scientific support. Some of the technologies that we work on at the firm are complicated, difficult to understand and may be foreign to you. Working in these technologies can make this position very rewarding for the scientifically curious.

You can expect to work on interesting, cutting edge technologies from day one, in addition to receiving mentorship from some of the firm's most experienced practitioners.

If you are scientifically inquisitive and this job sounds intriguing, we want to hear from you.

We would be happy to put selected candidates in touch with someone that can share their experiences working as a technical specialist at BF&F.

The firm is always seeking patent agents at all levels. Candidates for this position must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, have an advanced degree in the biological sciences, particularly biochemistry, immunology, cell biology, cell engineering or molecular biology, as well as strong academics and a track record of success. Previous law firm or industry experience is preferred but not required.

As a junior patent agent, you will work in a team with one of the partners or a senior patent agent while you develop your skills and become more efficient.

As a senior patent agent, you will work autonomously or in a team with one of the partners as needed.

Many of our agents have been at the firm for over 10 years and some have been at the firm for over 20. We would be happy to put selected candidates in touch with someone that can tell you what it is like working as a patent agent at BF&F.

The firm is always seeking motivated and inspired talent to join our Patent Assistant Team.  Our employees are an integral part of the success of our firm.  We strive to provide training and opportunities for growth and development to foster a challenging and rewarding working environment.

The Patent Assistant position is one of service.  Patent Assistant job responsibilities include supporting the work of the attorney or agent to enhance their efficiency and overall production.  The assistant must be able to prepare and take responsibility for a variety of correspondence; U.S. and foreign patent prosecution filings, reports, memoranda, legal documents and maintain attorney dockets.
